Job Title: Food Technician
Salary: £8.50 minimum per hour. This will change based on age and experience.
Hours: Part time, minimum 6 hours per week.

Just Catering is looking for someone who is interested in working in the fast paced and exciting industry of event catering. A food technician is required to prepare food to order. They must be available to work during the day, as and when required, during busy periods.
Just Catering is a small events catering company that operates in and around the South Birmingham area. We specialise in providing high quality canapés and made-to-order set menus to businesses in Birmingham. We also cater private functions, weddings and funerals. We are a dynamic and aspirational company, that always seeks to do the very best for our clients.
Responsibilities and Duties
The successful candidate will be expected to prepare set menus, such as buffets, for a set deadline. They must be able to present food on platters for clients. They will be asked to deliver food to venues, interact professionally with the client and clear up afterwards.
Some events require waiters, and the best candidates would be available for such events and capable of conducting themselves with professionalism. They would need to be able to pour drinks, set out and circulate food and clear up afterwards. The best candidate will have a passion for hospitality and be willing to serve clients with care and consideration.
There will be occasions when evening and weekend work is available.
Qualifications and Skills
Just Catering is looking for someone with Level 1 Hygiene Certificate. A Level 2 Hygiene Certificate would be preferred. They must have a driving licence and be able to collect supplies and make deliveries. They must have some previous catering experience.
They must be able to clean kitchen surfaces and appliances to a very high standard. They must be able to fill sandwiches. They must be willing to learn how to cook new recipes. The very best candidates will have an eye for detail and presentation of food.
They will be able to make quick decisions and work to meet a strict short term deadline. They must be able to work in a high pressure environment. The successful candidate will have excellent people skills, be able to speak professionally to clients face-to-face and on the telephone. They must be able to wait on table, pour drinks and circulate food to clients. They must be willing to dress in a smart fashion for functions.
